About the Role:

Tancoal is seeking experienced Heavy-Duty Auto Electricians to join our maintenance team. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring all heavy-duty equipment electrical systems are maintained, repaired, and installed in accordance with international standards and safety procedures. This role plays a key part in delivering cost-effective and reliable equipment performance in a demanding mining environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical repairs and maintenance on mobile heavy-duty equipment.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

  • Rebuild and restore equipment electrical circuits to meet required safety and operational standards.

  • Identify and analyze recurring or premature electrical component failures, providing recommendations for improvement.

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out thorough fault-finding and repairs.

  • Strictly adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

  • Provide on-the-job training and support to less experienced team members.

  • Carry out assigned electrical tasks as directed by the supervisor, ensuring timely completion.

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in all work areas.

  • Conduct field-level risk assessments before beginning any task to ensure safety.

  • Perform temporary electrical modifications as instructed to keep equipment operational while awaiting replacement parts.

Key Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with light-duty mobile equipment.

  • Previous experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment is essential.

  • Practical experience with general mining equipment, generators, and lighting plants.

  • Must hold a valid Tanzanian Driver’s License.

  • Proficient in using electrical test instruments and capable of reading and interpreting circuit diagrams to diagnose faults.

  • Skilled in operating electronic diagnostic tools for heavy equipment and trucks.

  • Strong ability to identify and resolve critical electrical faults efficiently.

  • Computer literate with the ability to generate reports and update maintenance records.

  • Solid understanding of machinery and tools, including their design, application, maintenance, and repair.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.

  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • High level of honesty and integrity.

  • Strong commitment to teamwork and safety.

  • Professional handling of tools, office equipment, and confidential information.
