About the Role:

Tancoal is seeking experienced Heavy-Duty Auto Electricians to join our maintenance team. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring all heavy-duty equipment electrical systems are maintained, repaired, and installed in accordance with international standards and safety procedures. This role plays a key part in delivering cost-effective and reliable equipment performance in a demanding mining environment.
Job Responsibilities:

Perform electrical repairs and maintenance on mobile heavy-duty equipment.

Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Rebuild and restore equipment electrical circuits to meet required safety and operational standards.

Identify and analyze recurring or premature electrical component failures, providing recommendations for improvement.

Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out thorough fault-finding and repairs.

Strictly adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

Provide on-the-job training and support to less experienced team members.

Carry out assigned electrical tasks as directed by the supervisor, ensuring timely completion.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in all work areas.

Conduct field-level risk assessments before beginning any task to ensure safety.

Perform temporary electrical modifications as instructed to keep equipment operational while awaiting replacement parts.
Key Requirements:

3–5 years of hands-on experience working with light-duty mobile equipment.

Previous experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment is essential.

Practical experience with general mining equipment, generators, and lighting plants.

Must hold a valid Tanzanian Driver’s License.

Proficient in using electrical test instruments and capable of reading and interpreting circuit diagrams to diagnose faults.

Skilled in operating electronic diagnostic tools for heavy equipment and trucks.

Strong ability to identify and resolve critical electrical faults efficiently.

Computer literate with the ability to generate reports and update maintenance records.

Solid understanding of machinery and tools, including their design, application, maintenance, and repair.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.

Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
