About the Role:

Tancoal is seeking qualified High Voltage Electricians to join our operations team. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing quality switching (including isolating and de-energizing), maintenance, repairs, and installation of low and high voltage electrical systems and equipment. All tasks must be carried out in accordance with Tancoal’s Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and as per assigned shifts.

Job Responsibilities:

• Carry out daily tasks related to the operation and maintenance of high voltage electrical installations.

• Ensure all electrical installations meet the highest safety and performance standards.

• Install, modify, and replace electrical generation and distribution systems and equipment.

• Provide hands-on training and guidance to less experienced team members.

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve electrical energy efficiency.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support operational needs.

Key Requirements:

• Diploma, FTC, or VETA Grade I certification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within a process plant or mining environment.

• Solid practical knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, generators, transformers, and high-voltage equipment.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.

• Skilled in the design and installation of electrical circuits, as well as LV and HV cable jointing and terminations.

• Strong troubleshooting abilities for diagnosing and resolving electrical faults.

• Experience in high voltage switching is an added advantage.

• Competent in using electrical measuring and diagnostic instruments.

• Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
